Thabang led us on an enlightening tour of the Soweto townships, capped with a visit to the Apartheid Museum. Thabang is an engaging guide, speaking candidly about living in Soweto. Both Soweto and the Museum can be confronting (and rightly so), Thabang provided context and reassurance. If you want to learn about modern Johannesburg, we recommend this tour.

We had a great day out with Thabang to Hartbeespoort Dam! Away from the tourist area, the tour took us to beautiful countryside. Thabang’s knowledge of the area and South Africa was superb, we thoroughly enjoyed his commentary throughout the day. It’s highly recommended!

Our guide was very knowledgeable and informative. We went through some rough parts of town but he made us feel as safe as possible. Unfortunately Constitution Hill was closed to tourists, that day so we were unable to view it. We would take another tour and highly recommend Tsalanang Tours.

Ignorant about South Africa, but with a deep memory about the apartheid and Mandela, I was looking for a guide to discover the related sites of this history and to discover more about the region. The "Best of Gauteng experience" proposal over 6 days was fully matching my expectations and has been such a great experience ! It was the most eye-opening tour we have ever had. Our guide was very knowledgeable and explained everything to us. As being a local and had grown up in Soweto he knew from his own experience. We highly recommend this tour if you want to learn more about the history of Soweto.

Thabang Molefe was an extremely knowledgeable tour guide. There wasn’t a question we asked about contemporary life in and history of Johannesburg that he couldn’t answer with depth and context. He was warm, witty and his obvious love for the area shone through. He made us feel very comfortable and cared for. If I ever visit Johannesburg again, I wouldn’t hesitate to take a tour with Thabang again.
