Johannesburg and Soweto an ultimate experience of Johannesburg & Soweto tour we explore the history, architecture, the culture and museums of the vibrant City and Township of Gold. This tour will give you an overall about South Africas history as we visit various attractions in both Johannesburg and Soweto. Pick up at residence. Visit the Constitution Hill which was built as a prison and today is home to the Highest Court in South Africa it tells the story of our journey to democracy. We drive through Marshalltown which was the mining hub of Johannesburg during the gold rush. We visit the Apartheid Museum, here you will learn about the events of apartheid in South Africa. Lunch (drinks own account) We then drive to Soweto one of the biggest townships in South Africa. Drive through the FNB Stadium which hosted the 2010 Soccer World Cup Final. We then start our Soweto tour in Diepkloof as we discuss about the different housing. Drive past the hostels which has been transformed from migrant labour accommodation to informal family units. Drive past Chris Hani Baragwanath hospital which is the one of the largest hospitals. We then view the Soweto Towers which is now the landmark of Soweto. Then we stop at one of the most prestigious streets in the world Vilakazi Street; which was home to the 2 Noble Peace Prize Winners Arch Bishop Desmond Tutu and Nelson Mandela here you will get a chance to do some souvenir shopping and visit the Mandela House Museum. Visit the Hector Pietersen Museum; where you will get an overview of the events of the 1976 Soweto Student Uprising. Tour ends drop off at residence.
Drive through Pretoria with Rhino & Lion Nature Reserve. Pick up at residence, and drive to Pretoria. Visit the Freedom Park. We then drive through the city talking history and architecture. Visit the Union Building which is the official seat of the South African Government and also houses the offices of the President of South Africa. Drive to the Rhino & Lion Nature Reserve. Enjoy a 1. 5 to 2 hours guided game drive in an open safari vehicle, viewing and learning about the different species on the reserve. Drop of at residence to end the day.
Lesedi Cultural Village Experience the rich and colourful cultures of South Africa, by going on the Lesedi Cultural Village tour. Discover the fascinating cultures and traditions of the people of Africa, as you will be visiting various traditional homesteads inhabited by Zulu, Xhosa, Pedi, Basotho and Ndebele tribes. Pick up at residence. Once we arrive you can enjoy some souvenir shopping at Lesedi Cultural Village. Introduction video at the Amphitheatre. Guided cultural tour in the village. Cultural dancing. Pilanesberg National Park Safari Early morning pick up at your residence in Johannesburg, 2.5 hours shuttle to Pilanesberg National Park. 3 hours morning game drive in an open safari vehicle, exploring the various fauna & flora. Lunch included 3 hours afternoon game drive, in an open safari vehicle, continue exploring the game reserve. Shuttle to Johannesburg, 2.5 hours drive. Drop off at your residence.
Cradle of Humankind. Pick up at residence. Our first stop we explore the Sterkfontein Caves, the site of the most longstanding, continuous paleoanthropological dig in the world. We then take a drive to the Maropeng Museum which is an award-winning, exhibition, focusing on the development of humans and human ancestors over the past million years. We always felt safe and secure in his presence. His knowledge of the history of SA along with his vision for the future was a welcomed dialogue from such an astute young man.
